Companies employing up to nine people generated more than PLN 2 trillion (EUR 470 billion, USD 550 billion) in revenue last year, PKO BP reported.
Their number increased to 2.4 million, employing a total of 4.5 million people.
Microenterprises make up 98 percent of all active businesses in Poland and account for nearly 28 percent of the country's GDP, according to the bank.
Analysts noted that while overall business conditions remained stable, microfirms continued to face high labour, energy and service costs in 2024, which weighed on profit margins.
"Microenterprises are showing a positive development trend. In 2024, their number rose by nearly 3 percent. Revenues grew faster than inflation and slightly faster than costs," PKO BP analysts wrote.
They added that microfirms recorded the highest gross profitability among all business groups, with most active primarily on the domestic market.
More than 35 percent of all microfirm revenue came from trade and vehicle repair businesses, with construction accounting for 13.7 percent and professional services 8.1 percent, PKO BP said.
